Payment & security.
How your payment is processed, what protects it, and how your card data is kept out of our hands.
Shop the shelf →Secure, encrypted checkout
Every page of Synaptide Home is served over encrypted HTTPS (TLS), and the checkout is no exception. Your connection to us is encrypted end to end, which is what the padlock in your browser’s address bar indicates.
How your card is handled
Card payments are processed by a PCI-DSS-compliant third-party payment processor. Your card details are transmitted directly to that processor over an encrypted connection and are tokenised there; Synaptide LLC never sees, handles or stores your full card number, expiry or security code on its own servers. This is the same architecture used by most reputable online shops and is designed so that a compromise of a merchant’s website cannot expose your card.
Fraud protection: AVS, CVV and 3-D Secure
To protect both you and us against fraudulent use of a card, our processor applies several standard checks at the moment of payment:
- AVS (Address Verification Service) — your billing address is checked against the address your card issuer holds.
- CVV/CVC — the short security code on your card is verified to confirm the physical card is present.
- 3-D Secure — where your bank requires it, you may be asked to confirm the payment through your bank’s own authentication (a one-time code or app approval). This shifts liability for fraud to the issuer and is a strong protection for you.
One-time charges only
Every purchase on Synaptide Home is a single, one-time charge for the order you place. We do not run subscriptions, we do not store your card to bill you again, and we never charge a card on file without a fresh order and your action. If you ever see a recurring or unexpected charge, contact us immediately and we’ll investigate.
What appears on your statement
Payments are handled by our payment provider, so your order may appear on your card or bank statement as a separate line under our billing descriptor rather than the exact page title. If a charge from us looks unfamiliar, please email us before disputing it — we can identify the order straight away and resolve any confusion far faster than a chargeback.
Your data
What we do keep — your name, shipping and billing address, email, order history and the last four digits and brand of your card as returned by the processor — is held to fulfil your order, handle returns and answer your questions. How we treat it is set out in full in our Privacy Policy.
